Well, the majority of our members are involved on other forums, or FB groups, but I figured I would put it here as well. Especially since we now know more details.... This post is information heavy, please read entirely before posting questions or comments.
Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store is going to close for renovations at the end of September. The Disney Studio Store shall remain, however Ghiridelli chocolate will control the Icecream and soda fountain once it Reopens in november. The grand opening is set for November 15th.
During the down time, any pin releases for Movies, such as the 20th anniversary of Nightmare Before christmas, during the month of October will be handled by the El Capitan theatre. I did not get the impression there will be any other October releases during this change over. However, thor is set for El Capitan release on November 8th, which is prior to the re-opening, so I predict it will also be handled by El Cap.
Ghiridelli Ice Cream and soda Fountain shall continue the PTD tradition, with some changes. The information I have gotten from various online sources indicates you will be able to select a Sundae from the menu, rather than being limited to 1 style. There has been no word thus far if they will switch it to a higher edition size, or if the designs will be changed.
They have already announced that they will be doing a pin and sundae for the Frozen release in November. This tells me that chances are the new PTD's will likely be more of a theme style and be done specifically for movie releases. I do NOT know for certain, but that is my guess.
Cast Members: As many of you know, the majority of the employee's of DSF were given 2 week notice. For many this is cause for concern, but as someone who worked in retail for many years, I can tell you that it does NOT mean all the familiar and loved faces are gone forever.
There is a very high chance that the CM's will get first crack at interviews and new positions in the Ghiridelli store. Not all, but I bet some will be back. This gives the location a chance to weed out some of the less stellar CM's without cause for legal concerns. 3 people are being kept on, and they will I am sure, have some say in the hiring process for the new soda fountain.

Temporary or total Banning, depending on the severity of the situation. If you persistently require warnings or temp bans for behavior on this forum you will NOT be welcome back.
We do NOT wish to hinder discussions, to censor people, or be forced to play mediators. Our Admin says it well, "what would Will Smith do?" If it is rude, inconsiderate, abusive, or derogatory, it is NOT appropriate for the forum.
This Psycho Pixie will not ice cream bomb threads. We, the Staff, will close them and hand out warnings or banishment's. It won't matter who you are, what you do for the forum, how crappy your week has been, or who you know. We, as a team, will be fair and firm. Please do not force us to test out the Banish options of this Forum. None of us wish to use it.

We went to DSF, the LE400 BT's were for AiW, BatB, TLM and HoND. PTD changed over to WtP Christopher Robin, is LE500 and stil 1pp. Next week we go to DLR for the PoDM release.

Not all movies or terms have Acronyms. this can make it confusing at times. Sometimes things will have the same acronym! Talk about annoying, but when read in the whole sentence you can figure out which one it is meant to be.

This thread will help you get the basics nailed down so YOU can start hosting trade events in your region! I have assisted in setting up numerous events for a couple different non profit groups, and I think the basics listed below will help you succeed with your pin gather.
Before you decide to have a DPBB pin gather, there are a couple questions you should ask.
Is there interest from others? Enough people in your area to make it work? For a pin trade gather, you would want at least 5-10 people
Do you want to host it or are you just wanting to participate? If you do not wish to be the host, do you know someone willing?
Once you know there is interest, it is time to set it up.
location location location. Do you want the Gather to be a paying event at a restaurant or venue? Do you want to host it at your home? You need to find a place that has enough room for everyone attending to have space to set the trade books up, and for socialization and hang out space as well.
Date. a date should be set far enough out in advance to allow everyone wishing to attend time to schedule it. I would advise 2 months in advance.
Time. folks often do not consider this. Based on the duration of the event and what time it is set for, you may need to feed your attendee's.
~Events scheduled from say, 1pm-5pm do not need food, but again, snacks and drinks are a good idea.
~Events scheduled during meal times should at least have snacks available. Or even make it a potluck! Potlucks are a great way to get your attendee's to be move involved.
RSVP is important. If there is a limit to the number of folks that can attend due to venue size, OR if it a paying event, make sure you announce that in your event notice. Also clearly state deadlines for the RSVP.
Make the announcement for the set date!
post it on the DPBB calendar.
make a thread here in the pin gatherings Forum.
ensure you have a confirmed attendance list, either on the thread, or privately so that you know who is going to make it.
Check the thread daily and update it regularly. Announce it again once the date gets close.
