A guide to spotting fake pins - pintraderclub - 11-12-2019
Hey folks,
Since I'm sure the majority of us have been stung but either buying or trading for a fake pin, we wrote a guide to spotting fake Disney pins.
I'd love your feedback on any parts of it we could improve!

I've just read your article/guide about identifying fake pins, and I found it very helpful. I also read the comments and took other people's opinions into consideration when checking my pins. Since reading your article, I believe I've found at least 3 fakes that I now need to remove from my collection. The biggest signs that they were fake was the weight of the metal (much lighter), the clarity/legibility of the liscensing stamp on the back (the date is illegible and some of the letters are faint), and the roughness on the edges. So thanks for your help with identifying these!
I still have a couple of pins that I think might be fakes, but I am undecided. One concerning factor is that the pins feel too smooth on the enamel and the silver lines are flat and thick rather than thin, which makes them appear less detailed, and, as they are hidden mickey pins, they already stand a good chance of being fake. Would these thick silver lines be a sign of a fake? Your opinion would be appreciated if you have the time, thank you!
