Great question!
Right now we are only taking pin submissions that are OFFICIAL non-scrapper Disney Pins. We ask that these are the only types of pins you upload. As for buttons, we are currently not taking button submissions. I will update this answer if that changes.

Yes, we have been letting fantasy pins in, but for now, we have stopped.  We are coming up with guidelines for the addition of fantasy pins (since people like to trade them) but the specifics aren't up yet.

Please consider drafting guidelines for buttons as well as fantasy pins. It seems kind of arbitrary to not allow, at the very least, relevant official items to be posted simply because the metal post runs parallel to the object instead of perpendicular. One of the benefits of a site like this is the opportunity to log our COMPLETE personal Disney pin/button collections in a user-friendly (ie. not Microsoft Excel) way, and for me at least, these current limitations are a huge detractor to using this database and adding more items going forward. Especially if my entries are liable to get deleted when all I want is a complete record of my collection and to help your database grow to be as complete, thorough, and helpful as possible.

As for unilaterally trying to determine what pins/buttons people will and will not trade, it's completely subjective and on a case-by-case basis. Once again, these rules seem arbitrary, and even feel somewhat like a form of gatekeeping. Apologies for my tone, but I am frustrated and would really appreciate consideration of this request. Thanks.

This is a pin trading database for Disney pins. This is not a database for all things Disney. A button is different than a pin. We let pins with clasps be added into the database, but not buttons.

If this should change, we will let members know.
