Description | DLR - Magical Milestones: A Pin Celebration - 1967 - Carousel of Progress Opens The Carousel of Progress opened in Tomorrowland® on July 2, 1967. This Open Edition spinner pin remembers the opening of that classic attraction that taught Guests a beautiful tomorrow is "only a dream away." The spinner on this pin rotates to show the various years featured in the attraction. Chris Chapman from Disney Design Group created the artwork for this pin. Did you know? This attraction originally debuted at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. During the Fair's opening, Mr. Lincoln (from Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln) experienced several technical difficulties. So, the first human Audio-Animatronic® figure that Guests' saw was "Father" from this attraction. Mr. Lincoln debuted about a week later. The attraction at Disneyland® Park was closed on September 9, 1973 and moved to Walt Disney World® Resort. It reopened in Florida on January 15, 1975.
