This Open Edition pin remembers when the Walt Disney Company purchased the hotel from the Wrather Corporation. Goofy is a pin-on-pin, while the doorknob sign moves from side to side. Lin Shih from Disney Design Group created the artwork for this pin. Did you know? When Walt Disney built Disneyland® in 1955, he did not have enough money to build a hotel too. He persuaded his friend Jack Wrather to build the hotel on Disney land across from the park. When the hotel was purchased by the Walt Disney Company in 1988, the Company also gained the lease to operate the Queen Mary in Long Beach.
