This Open Edition pin remembers the Opening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. This pin features Mickey Mouse and Goofy taking a ride on this classic Disney attraction. The train and mountain are pins-on-pin. The smoke is Free-D. Disney Design Group Artist Chris Chapman created the artwork for this pin. Did you know? For this original attraction at Disneyland, Disney designer Tony Baxter was intrigued by the scenery at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, so he deisgned the first Big Thunder Moutain to resemble it. The other Big Thunder Mountain Railroads resemble scenery at Monument Valley. Dallas McKinnon provided the voice of character asking Guests to "hold on to them hats and glasses."
